Some Chocolate Lovin'

I won't go into the orgasmic response (just kidding, or am I) that these lil' crack cups gave me, but let's just say they are DELISH! Now if I was a  "dieting Debbie" I would say that they are only 60 calories, sugar free and help you crave those monthly daily chocolate needs but I'm gonna keep it real and and tell you to multiply that by 2 or 3 because you can't just eat one serving. Seriously, why do you think they make them in 6 packs ladies?

Can we read it again?! Repeated Book Readers Anonymous

How many of us have read the same book over and over again to our kids? Maybe I'm psychic but I'm sure that everyone of us raised our hand. I love a good kids book! One that is kid friendly and not obnoxiously annoying such as one of my son's faves, Mongoose, Mongoose, Stop! Don't Run by Antoinette Costello. Yes, it's cute the first couple times but I could recite that book in my sleep after downing a couple of shots and with a splash of Nyquil as a chaser. I'll just say that the title along with "I just want to have some fun" is repeated on EVERY.OTHER. PAGE! So to that I say, "Mongoose, mongoose, please don't stop and run away, far, far, away so that I don't have to read you ten times a day."

On to one of MY favorite books, Big Words For Little People by Jamie Lee Curtis. I absolutely adore this book! I picked it up at my place of worship, aka Target, and figured it might be a little over my kid's age group (4-8yrs old) but he fell for it hook, line, and sinker. It takes some hard to understand vocabulary words and whittles them down so that the youngsters can understand them but in a fun rhyming kind of way. Some examples of the vocab words are consequence, irate, patience, and considerate. The illustrations are cute and there are lots of different things to look at on the pages. Now, I do not have a deal with amazon whatsoever but in writing this post I discovered that the book is on sale for $11.55, almost $6 off the cover price so if you're interested, check it out. So yes, I LOVE this children's book and don't mind reading it over and over and over again. What's your favorite book to read to your kids? Which book do you absolutely despise?

Want a healthier choice?

While shopping last week a new product caught my eye and I couldn't resist... Oroweat Sandwich Thins. Apparently some areas have had the product under the brand Arnold but it is relatively new to us west coasters under the brand name Oroweat. Can I just tell you that I absolutely love them! They come in two different flavors, 100% whole wheat and a 100% whole grain. They are thinner than bread, but still softer than a pita bread and can be used in a wide variety of meal ideas. The best part is they are only 100 calories for the whole bun. You heard me right....the WHOLE thing. An average slice of bread ranges anywhere from 90-110 calories for one slice so it almost seems like a no brainer to go for the sandwich thins. They are also low fat and have no high fructose corn syrup and dangit, they just taste good! I used mine as hamburger bun and I even made the hubby eat it and he had no complaints.(Which means it's a keeper in my house.) I've also heard of others using it to make mini-pizzas, sandwiches, cutting it in strips to use in a dip, and as a substitute for toast with jam in the morning. The possibilities are truly endless. I'm pretty excited with this find because all too often healthy food doesn't taste too yummy and this product breaks the mold. Kudos to Oroweat!

A Little Link Love!

Who says spending time blogging and reading other's blogs isn't productive? Not I!
I meandered over to another blog, I really don't know how I found her, but immediately fell in love with her title, Domestic Dork. Really, who wouldn't love a title like that? After reading a few posts I found this one...that one that changed my life (ok, maybe that's a little dramatic, but you get the idea.) Use a pumice stone and some elbow grease to clean that stubborn "ring" around the toilet. GENIUS! (Check out her blog for the details and pics since I'm not brave enough to post toilet pics)

So, I put on my cute yellow gloves, parked the kiddo in front of the tv since he wouldn't take a nap today and I gave it a try. Holy Moly, it worked! I have tried almost every product for the last two years to get that gross ring out but just figured that I was doomed to live in a good for nothing, yucky, yellow ring kingdom.

Now, I can't say that the following events will happen in every one's bathroom but finally getting that toilet spic and span led to counters, sinks, mirrors, mopping the floors and removing the shower doors so that I could scrub the living daylights out of them. And at last, my bathroom is GORGEOUS! So a big thank you to Holly Noelle at Domestic Dork for providing the great idea and the inspiration to finally make my bathroom beautiful.
