My month in Bullet Points

I have no idea how so many of you bloggers blog EVERY SINGLE DAY? I just can't do it. Between semi-single parenting, a not-so-regular nap schedule anymore, household chores and just life, blogging easily gets put on the backburner. Needless to say, I took a vacation from blogging (far longer than I anticipated) but so much has happened while I was away. Here are the bulletpoints, since I will not bore you with all the silly details.
  • I turned the dirty 30 or is it 7 1/2? That's right folks, I was born on Leap Day which means "technically" I've only had 7 birthdays. Funny how when I was younger I always wanted to be older, but now that I've said goodbye to my 20's, the idea of only being 7 doesn't sound too bad!
  • We went to the Winter Olympics and it was AMAZING! The men's speedskating was by far the best event. Watching USA take gold and bronze was such a neat experience and the facility was absolutely beautiful. Aerials was fun, but I will never again buy standing room only tickets. 5 hours of being sandwhiched like a sardine with NO room to even pick your nose was awful!
  • My husband  took 2 whole weeks vacation! For the new readers, he's a long haul truck driver and is only home about once a week for a day, maybe two, so this was a rare luxury. It was a much needed vacation for him, and in reality, for all of us. It provided us with the time to regroup and make some major life decisions together, and not make them over the phone since that is our major method of communication.
  • Our car got broken into while in Vancouver and we had to miss our last event, bobled. :( That majorly sucked. All they got were pennies out of my ash tray, seriously, just knock on our door, I'll happily give you the pennies versus breaking into my car at the repair cost of 350 bucks in addition to the cost of the Olympic tickets, ferry rides etc. Overall, we lost between 500-600 buckeroos cause someone wanted my pennies.  They hit 3 other cars on the street and didn't get anything valuable from anybody. Some people, I swear!
  • I had 2, yes I said 2, flat tires in a 24 hour period  causing me to buy all new tires. And no, that wasn't cheap either. Seriously bad car karma this month and it's all weird, freaky things!
  • And lastly, our major life decision........we're moving to an island! For real, but before you break out the flipflops, sunblock, attempt to schedule your vacation and seek accomodations in my guest room, think Great White North and a little chillier. Vancouver Island! It's an hour and half ferry ride from Vancouver and it's beautiful. Simply breathtaking. Plans are already in the works and I'm looking forward to a life that is a bit simpler, more family time and not so hectic. I'm planning on embracing Island Life and discovering a whole new perspective.
So that's my last month in a nutshell minus cooking, cleaning, laundry and wiping butts. We all know how that goes. If you're a new reader or an oldy but goody, say hi! I've missed all you guys and I plan to get back to my regularly scheduled programming soon. :)

Show me those pearly whites!

Just in case you needed a good laugh!!!

I'm smiling with you big ol' horsey!
Honestly, we've had a great week around these neck of the woods. Our house that has been empty for almost 3 years and on the market for almost a year finally sold. If all goes well it will close soon and our "new chapter" of life will start. See, selling this house means that we're one step closer to moving up to Canada and having a more "traditional" life. You know the one where you actually get to LIVE with your husband and he can have a job that allows him to be home more and hopefully add more little monsters to our little family. Secondly, my hubby finally got some extra government credentials, after a silly paperwork mix up that took forever to fix, that will allow him to haul goods from US Ports which equals more money for us. Hooray! And lastly, we're celebrating two birthdays this week. My lovely husband is turning one year wiser (we'll see about that) tomorrow and our cute as a button son turns the big 3 on Wednesday. So we'll have some busy days surrounded by fun, family and friends and I'm pretty sure there will be pics and stories to follow. So, let me know what good news came your way this week. From big news to little tidbits, go ahead a let it out! Let's all brag a bit and smile (although maybe not as big as that horse) about other's news.

Back on American Soil!

Man, it has been way too long since I've posted. Sorry, I struggle with what to write every time I sit down and so basically I've been reading other's blogs and becoming entranced in their stories. Once I read their stories, mine seem so insignificant, so boring.
We've just made our way back home from a week long vacation to our neighbors up north in good ol' Canada. We had a great time hanging out with family and scoping out neighborhoods for when we have our big move up north. I discovered a few things about myself while we were up there and I'm so glad I did before we moved and I found out the hard way. (I'll post about that another day, I've got to get my ducks in a row before I spill the beans..nothing crazy, don't worry)
One thing I discovered while in Canada......wait for it........... Shreddies and HP sauce. The few Canadians who read my blog probably think I'm silly but Yummmmmmmmmmy! I bought way too many boxes of Shreddies (it's a cereal) and a couple bottles of HP (think A-1 sauce only better) and the cashier looked at me like I was insane and probably thinking I was REALLY hungry. She said, " Somebody likes Shreddies and HP sauce" and gave my husband and I a cock-eyed look. I should have said, "Oh, yeah. I love to wake up to a bowl of shreddies drenched in HP sauce. It's the perfect way to start the day off right." Instead, I smiled and politely informed her that I'm from the States and they don't sell these items down here. She cut me some slack and said we've been deprived( I completely agree). The more I think about it, I should have told her the first comment, she really would have thought I was a wacko American. Cause apparently I was informed that because we voted Bush in twice they think we're pretty dumb ( can't blame them there) but we're getting a little street cred with Obama so apparently, we're not that stupid as of November.
Ok, so I guess this was my Seinfeld post. A post about nothing. Tadaaaaaa! Hopefully, I'll think of something to write about, and soon.
